Description
Watching my daughters play netball late on a Saturday afternoon, I noticed the long shadows cast by the players, especially at the circle end, where I was standing. I became immensely excited as I began to envisage the surreal images I could capture. I already had the high-contrast processing in my head.
This image is rotated 180 degrees to the way I took it, i.e., it is upside down, but that's just how I pictured it. I love this image, and its partners. They are the first images I've ever shot that I can see hanging on a gallery wall somewhere, a silent but powerful tableau, stark and raw.
